Obafemi Awolowo University, still continue mourning one of the student that passed away, the medical student whose name is Ajibola Ibitayo killed himself after he notice that he failed his examination twice.
According to the statement shared on Wednesday, 13th of August, 2025 by the President of the Dentistry Student Association, Adebayo Idris, the incident happened not quite long after the examination results was drop.
The statement reads;
“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of our colleagues in the Faculty of Dentistry.”
“We have received the painful news that he took his own life shortly after the release of his examination result.”
“This loss is not just the departure of a promising young mind, but a painful reminder of the silent battles many students face. As an association, we are devastated, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, classmates, and all who knew him.”
Finally, he encouraged the students to look out for one another and find professional when necessary.
